RK3568-based MYC-LR3568 system-on-module comes with up to 8GB RAM, 32GB storage for cost-sensitive Edge AI applications

MYIR Tech has announced the release of the Rockchip RK3568-based MYC-LR3568 Edge AI system-on-module (SoM) offered in a compact 381-pin expansion LGA package design. It features up to 8GB LPDDR4 RAM, 32GB eMMC flash storage, a power management integrated circuit, and various connectivity options.

The base configuration of the MYC-LR3568 system-on-module offers only 2GB RAM and 16GB storage but the module supports up to 8GB RAM and 32GB eMMC storage. It supports several video codecs, including 4K 60fps H.265/H.264/VP9 decoding and 1080P 60fps H.265/H.264 encoding, for high-quality video playback and recording.

The MYC-LR3568 SoM works with Debian and Linux operating systems. It is designed for cost-sensitive industrial applications including but not limited to IoT gateways, NVR storage, industrial control, human-machine interface (HMI), cloud terminals, and facial recognition systems.

The system-on-module has been released with the MYD-LR3568 development board that serves as an evaluation platform. The development board is powered by a 12V/3A DC power supply and features a wide range of ports and interfaces, including two USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 ports, dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, two CAN interfaces, and a built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module. Expansion options comprise a MicroSD card slot, an M.2 NVME SSD slot, a 40-pin Raspberry Pi-compatible expansion header, and a MiFAN custom 40-pin expansion interface. It can drive multiple displays via HDMI, Mini-DP, MIPI-DSI, and LVDS.

MYIR offers a few optional modules to extend the board’s functionalities, including a 4ADH-to-MIPI Camera Module, a MIPI Camera Module, an RPI module, and an LCD module. Previous offerings from MYIR Tech include the MYC-J7A100T SoM, MYC-LMX9X SoM, MYD-LT527-SX board, and the Remi Pi.

The MYC-LR3568 system-on-module is sold in two standard configurations with the major differences being the onboard CPU and operating temperature. The $65 MYC-LR3568J-16E2D-180-I-G model features the RK3568J processor and works best between -40 to +85°C. The second configuration, MYC-LR3568B2-16E2D-200-E, costs $43 and has the RK3568B2 processor and an operating temperature range of -20 to 70°C. The MYD-LR3568 development board can be fitted with either module and ships with a USB cable, a 12V/3A power adapter, and a quick start guide.
