Q&A with Lisa Nichols, Technology Partners

The dearth of women in the tech industry concerns Lisa Nichols, who is eager to create new pathways for women to enter the field. “I’m deeply committed to addressing the gender disparity,” she says. “We need more diverse voices and perspectives in tech.” At the same time, Nichols is energized by plenty of things these days. Her company continues to expand, both in terms of geography and team size, and she recently reached the 300-episode threshold with her podcast, Something Extra. “We’re not just growing our footprint,” she says. “We’re also investing in nurturing the next generation of tech leaders.”
PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS & OPPORTUNITIES
What has been your or your company’s most significant success over the last 12 months? Celebrating 30 years in business and reaching 300 episodes of my Something Extra podcast has been incredibly rewarding. But the true success lies in our people‚Äîthe dedicated team members at Technology Partners who make everything possible. Their passion, resilience, and commitment to excellence are what drive our continued growth and impact.
What has you most excited about the future of your company or industry? I’m most excited about Technology Partners’ continued expansion, both geographically and in our leadership development efforts. We’re not just growing our footprint;we’re also investing in nurturing the next generation of tech leaders. If you could change one thing about your industry, what would it be and why? As a female CEO in tech, I’m deeply committed to addressing the gender disparity in our industry. Recent research has found that women make up just 28% of the tech workforce and hold only 20% of tech leadership roles. This underrepresentation is something I’m passionate about changing. We need more diverse voices and perspectives in tech, and I’m dedicated to creating pathways for more women to thrive in this space
What’s the toughest business challenge you’ve had to overcome (excluding the pandemic) and why? Adapting to the rapid pace of change in AI and technology has been one of the most significant challenges. The industry evolves so quickly, and staying ahead requires constant innovation and agility. We’ve had to continually reinvent ourselves, ensuring that we not only keep up with these advancements but lead the way in providing cutting-edge solutions to our clients.
