At IDEX, Indra presents cutting-edge defence systems that reinforce its position as a key technology partner in the Middle East

At IDEX, one of the world’s most important defence fairs, which is being held in Abu Dhabi from 17 to 21 February, Indra will be showcasing some of the most advanced defence solutions on the market, which it is currently equipping the world’s most advanced armies with.
The company has taken on a growing role as a key technological partner for the countries in the Arabian Gulf region, establishing close collaborative relationships with local companies and promoting projects that are critical for the defence and security of this part of the world.
An example of this is the creation of Pulse, the joint venture formed by Indra and Edge for the development of state-of-the-art radars that will be marketed in high-potential markets.
Within the framework of this collaboration, Indra will be displaying some of its latest and most advanced radars at its partner Edge’s stand. These include the AESA Nemus and Nemus-C systems, two cutting-edge systems designed to protect military vehicles and battleships from attacks by drones and different types of missiles and projectiles.
Also, together with Edge, Indra will be exhibiting the AESA MTR-10 radar, which the company has developed to cover anti-aircraft defence functions and which is currently one of the most sophisticated on the market. It will also be exhibiting an advanced self-protection pod for transport aircraft, fighters and helicopters that incorporates the latest advances in digitalisation and signal processing.
Within the framework of Navdex, the naval fair that takes place in parallel to Idex, Indra will exhibit state-of-the-art radars and electronic defence systems in one of the patrol boats of the company Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB). These include an advanced 3D radar, electronic defence systems for the detection and measurement of radar and communications signals (R-ESM, C-ESM), as well as its Crow anti-drone system (C-UAS), a solution that is being used by armies in several countries and that has demonstrated an excellent protection capacity, both in land and naval environments in real operations.
In addition to this impressive display of state-of-the-art systems, Indra will also be showcasing a wide range of solutions at its own stand, ranging from simulators to military communications systems, border surveillance systems and advanced platforms for satellite constellations and space missions.
The company is currently working on incorporating cutting-edge technologies linked to artificial intelligence, cloud computing, advanced communications and virtual reality that will shape the future of defence. It is doing so within some of the most ambitious projects in the world, such as the evolution of the Eurofighter, the development of the next generation air combat system (NGWS/FCAS), the development of systems for ships such as the F110 or the new generation S80 submarine, systems for battleships and military vehicles such as the 8×8 Dragon and all kinds of command and control solutions adapted to all levels of the chain of command, as well as national air defence systems.
Indra maintains a strong presence in the Arabian Peninsula and the Middle East, a region in which it has carried out projects as relevant to the security of the area as the deployment of the complete air defence system of Oman, based on the company’s Lanza radars. It has also equipped Saudi Arabian corvettes of different classes with its sensors and systems, working with Navantia and Lockheed Martin to do so. It has also worked on defence projects with other countries in the region, such as Kuwait.
